Postnatal Doula

Adapting to life with a new baby can be challenging and tiring no matter whether it is your first baby or you're an experienced parent. As your postnatal doula, I am there for you with judgement- free support, whatever your parenting choices. This is a difficult to define service as it varies so widely depending on the needs of each family. Often parents won't know what they need in advance. Some parents book ahead, and some after the baby's arrival.

As your postnatal Doula, I can offer:

Emotional support and companionship while you process the enormity of the changes in your life, or reflect on your birth experience.

Help you with practical tasks If you feel like you've lost control of your household (no judgement!), or could do with an extra pair of hands with other kids, or pets.

Support with feeding, sleeping, or caring for your newborn.

Confidence and practical help on your first trips out with your newborn.

And much more!

"I would send Bonnie questions or concerns and she would reply with the most supportive voice note or phone call. Without Bonnie's support those first few weeks would have been a very different experience to the one that I now look back on so very fondly"

Meena, 2022

"Working with Bonnie was just wonderful, she made us feel completely at ease and was brilliant with Baby F. I would 100% recommend her for anyone looking for support postpartum."

Evie, 2023

Breastfeeding Support

Having breastfed my own children for almost 6 years in total, I have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share. I have been supporting women through their breastfeeding journeys for many years, and although I have no formal qualifications, I am confident to support common breastfeeding challenges. I also know my limitations and boundaries, and have excellent links with Breastfeeding Counsellors and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants if  you need more in depth or specialist support.

I have breastfed through so many issues, including poor latching, nipple damage, vasospasm, Tongue Ties, Cow's Milk Protein Allergy, subsequent pregnancy, teething... so I am all too aware that it can be a hugely challenging time. I also know that if it is your desire to breastfeed, with the right support, it can be hugely rewarding, as well as convenient, money saving and providing so many health benefits for both you and your baby.

Support for breastfeeding is not only feeding specific, but also includes looking after your physical and emotional well-being as a new Mum, and having people around who are truly on board with your feeding goals.

"Bonnie has been such an invaluable support to me in our postpartum journey. She listened, showing such empathy, to the breastfeeding struggles that we were having. Bonnie had a wealth of information and shared useful resources.

Her encouragement kept me going."

Katie, Dec 2022.
